TNGY Preparations, Finals and Afterthoughts

Headed down to Key editions to prepare ourselves for the TNGY finals.

Arm candies for that day.
I NEED MORE SIZE 7/8 RINGS T_T Why are my fingers so tiny ...

Had a runway workshop by Genecia luo, one of the famous celebrity trainer (

Afterwards, we started teaching one another the dance routine prepared by the hardworking peeps (sheena, arfah, rayna and more).

Luckily, since I had some small dance background and I've already learnt the dance routine for Gentleman, everything was relatively easy for me :D

Finally, it's time for the finals on the 15th of June. All of us had to wake up early to prepare our runway segment and rehearsals for the dance segment.

The stage at Bugis+

Didn't take much pictures after the rehearsals as I was having a bad time rushing back and forth between venues. Not that my throbbing headache was helping either -_-

In case you're curious, here are the respective winners for the male and female category!

I managed to bag home the title of Mr sensational :)
A vid taken by one of the participant's friend. To be honest, the routine was kinda messed up and everyone's doing it wrong halfway through (for the male segment). Dancing to gentleman was so much fun though...

Okay now that that's done. Let me start on my rants

I'm really happy to be able to experience this contest alongside the new awesome friends I've met along the way (rayna, arfah and more). However, I feel that there was a whole lot of negativity between the contestants which I kinda abhor and would prefer to avoid. Shall not probe into that matter since I'm probably not gonna see them anymore BUT...

Contest wise, I felt like I was in a disadvantage during the finals.

Firstly, I was at a disadvantage because the MC forgot about my talent time.

All the other contestants had the opportunity to showcase their talents and the MC somehow seems to forget about mine. I confronted him and he apologized to me saying that he forget about it blablabla.

If it's written in your notes, please take considerable efforts to memorize it. Is the word " SING " that hard to memorize? AGH

OH and it feels as though the competition is judged mainly based on the height (I don't really feel this way but it was voiced out by the others).

Yes, there's no point in me talking about this now since it has already ended, but I just wanted to voice out my views. These are what the other contestants and I were thinking after the finals.

Secondly, the makeup and clothing sponsors.

When I had moderate acne when I was younger, I was recommended to try out the tea tree oil range from thebodyshop. Unfortunately, using it only caused me to breakout even worse. From moderate acne to severe acne. IT WAS A NIGHTMARE.

I've tried their other products, including the seaweed range and more but unfortunately all of them seems to make my complexion look even worse. So when I found out that thebodyshop was one of the sponsors for the event, I was hoping that my face won't be caked by their products.

A day after the finals, I started breaking out and my skin started peeling badly. I SERIOUSLY HATE THE PRODUCTS EVEN MORE AFTER THAT DAY. It's not only me too! The other contestants have tried the tea tree oil they were given and apparently started growing pimples even though they had perfectly clear complexion before that. Some even had their eczema triggered thanks to the makeup and products.

Maybe the products doesn't suit my face and the other contestants.
Maybe the products are really effective for some people.

But I really hope that my face will be spared from thebodyshop products from now on. lol

TBH, Idk what's deemed fashionable by the people who dressed us up but I seriously think that my outfit was terrible lol. But aiya, not like we can come dressed in our own outfits anyway -_-

Okay, now I'm done with my rants.

But in overall, I have to be thankful for actually making this far, or even leaving with the title of Mr Sensational. Though I may not have won in this competition, it doesn't mean that I'm leaving as a loser cause deep down, everyone in the competition is a winner :) Thank you, the organizers for rushing and making efforts to help us prepare and make sure that we excel in the things we're doing. Thank you, contestants for providing me memories with this unforgettable journey!

Glad that I'm actually making friends too (even though I'm super shy lolol). Hope to see you soon Arfah, rayna and wilson! ;)

Last but not least, stills of me from the July issue of Teenage Magazine!

Ending this post with my favourite side view shot ;) Taken with my partner, Arfah!
