Went to CMPB for my NS medical checkup last week. Prior to the checkup, I was worried and kinda intimidated by the rumors about the NS medical (no thanks to my friends). I'm unsure which PES I would be in at the moment, considering the fact that I've inflammatory arthritis etc etc. But yeah :\

For those newbies like me who've yet to enter NS or have yet to go to CMPB for their checkup, this post will give you tips on the CMPB screening and also tips.

#1: Directions to go CMPB
It's my first time heading to CMPB so I took quite some time before I eventually got there (I got lost when I was there too lol). So far, the best method there would definitely be to take the MRT to Redhill MRT station, and then take a cab there and it will bring you directly to CMPB. In case you still can't find your way...

#2: What should I expect at CMPB?

When you reach there, you'll need to submit a declaration form they'll sent you (or you can print it online at Make sure you've your parents signature on it, otherwise you'll have to go home and book another date and come back again. Once there, submit your NRIC to the registration counter and you'll receive a form which is basically the overall summary for the different stations that you'll need to go to.

#3: Photo taking
This station is located just beside the registration counter. You'll need to take off your top and put on a " fake " uniform. The camera man will most likely spray water on your hair and attempt to do a comb back on you. Then again, it may fail and you may have dripping water on your hair. Your hair will probably then look like this.
#4: Hearing Test
You'll be asked to sit in an enclosed room and put on the headphones. You'll need to listen carefully to every sound and raise your hand if you heard anything (even the soft ones).

#5: Eye Test
This is pretty common and I'm sure most of you have gone through this before. Basically, they'll check your eye sight degree and also see if you're colour blind! Take off your contacts when you're at this station!

#6: Dental check
Basically you'll be asked to sit on a chair and they'll start examining your mouth and the teeth you have. They'll start saying stuff like R24 not present and stuff at a very fast pace ( I suppose that's wisdom tooth?) LOL.

#7 Urine Test
You'll be asked to take a cup with a test strip on. All you have to do is head to the toilet, pee into the cup and dip the strip into the cup. Once you're done, just take the strip out and DISPOSE OF THE CUP. DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT take the cup out of the toilet and show it off like it's made of gold. JUST THE STRIP WILL DO.

#8 Blood Test
The blood test is just beside the Urine test station. They'll ask you the clench your fist as they tie a strap on your arm very tightly. They will then extract blood from you after wiping alcohol your arm. Very common la lol

#9 X-RAY
Take off your clothes, stand with your body touching the machine/device. This process only took me 3 seconds @@

#10 Heartbeat Test
You'll be asked to lie on a bed with your clothes off, and they'll clip some suction thing onto your upper body. It literally feels like you'll 6 hands pinching against your body during this procedure. I left the room with several red patches that looks like cup shaped marks lol.

#11 Take off your pants HAHAHA
This is the station which made most of the enlistees nervous. There are rumours on how it's called the " Cough test " whereby the doctor will ask you to cough while holding onto your right testicle.

Luckily, this rumour isn't true at all la HAHAHA. All you have to do is enter the room, show your little boy to the doctor and you'll be free to go.

Of course I mentioned I've inflammatory arthristis etc etc and they'll be getting the report straight from my specialist at KTPH !

After this step, you're done with the body test!

This is the most boring and draining part. I swear it could take me at least 2 hours to finish everything if I did every question seriously (which I didn't cause I was late for my hair appointment at Salon Vim). I probably did only 50% of the work there properly?

The questions varies, there's the quadratic equation, algebra, common sense questions, remember numbers, patterns, words and much more. Basically you'll spend quite some time there la haha

and once you're done, YOU'RE FREE TO GO!!

I received the recruit booklet and quickly drove off the Bugis for my hair appointment with Salon Vim Afterwards.

Made an appointment with Jaime a few days back and I was really really guilty cause it was Jaime's birthday that day (I didn't know T_T).

I really needed to change the ugly yellowish blonde I had previously (pictures at the end of the post) so yeah! I rushed down to Salon Vim Bugis after my NS medical checkup for a hair dye, haircut and hair treatment !!
Jaime applied the colour " Ash gray " on my hair. Here's me after the application and washing procedures!
My hair has a tinge of blue on it. I LOVE IT !!!
Did the latest KERASTASE SCALP RITUAL as recommended by Jaime. The calming hair ritual is best recommended for hair types like me as I've undergone LOTS and LOTS of  hair dyeing procedures. If you do not know, the price of hair treatment and procedures normally varies at Salon Vim but for this SCALP RITUAL, the price stated is FIXED regardless of hair length. YAY!
This was the serum that was applied to my hair.
And though I may not have photos of the procedure, but i SWEAR that this is BY FAR, the best hair treatments I've ever done in my whole life. The whole aroma from the entire treatment process was heavenly and I was treated to a really relaxing head, neck and shoulder massage throughout the entire 20 minutes process. I really recommend this for those who're looking for really relaxing and soothing time after a hard day of work.

My hair obviously became softer and much healthier after the procedure too! Look at the final colour :D
Grayish, with a tint of blue. I LOVE IT LOR hahaha

And in case you're wondering how I look like with my hair in the yellowish blonde colour. Here are the pictures!!!
Though a lot of people said that it's suited for me (which I also agree to a certain extend), I have to say that it's actually not that bad leh.
But it's really damn hard to maintain, and that's why I decided to go for another colour and hair cut with Jaime
OH, and before I forgot, I also got the REDKEN gel from Salon Vim Bugis. It has a really decent scent and helps to hold my hair up for longer hours (after setting it with hairspray). If you're interested on getting your hair done like mine or keen in trying out a back comb hairstyle, you can give this product a try!!!

I'm currently thinking of the colours I wanna try once I finish my interns. I SERIOUSLY CAN'T WAIT FOR IT TO END LOR! Perhaps blue? Or maybe rainbow? Hahaha! I've done purple before so I'll probably try out other striking colours after my interns :3

  2. When show little boy to doctor will he say anything? My turn to go CMPB soon.

    1. Nope, he'll just take a look and ask you to pull your pants back up!
